Gallery Update

August 14th, 2011 No comments

Hey, just a quick post about my Portfolio section for my site. Changed the way albums are handled. Before they were just numeric 1, 2, 3, etc. Now they’re descriptive: “print” “sketchbook” “Illustration” etc.

Could use more permalinks when blogging about uploaded images such as the one from this previous post.

Updated website

July 6th, 2011 1 comment

Well I’ve been working hard to implement some new features to my site. Most of which were back-end PHP programming and modifying the CSS stylesheet. Here’s what I’ve accomplished…

In the Portfolio section:

  • Changed the numeric order of the images to start from the last entry and end with the first. Visually there should be no difference, but when you hover over the thumbnails and see the url link, you’ll notice the change.
  • Added internal navigation to the full image. Now you can go through the images back and forth. Also incorporated a “Back to …” link that is only visible on systems where JavaScript is disabled.

Additionally I changed the links in the trees to a different color than the rest of the text. And now the navigation sidebar doesn’t push the tree footer farther down than the main section area.

New sketches added to Sketchbook

June 29th, 2011 No comments

Just added 5 new sketches to my Sketchbook section of my site. This is my favorite one:

Hector and Seelay are Buddies

Right now I’m busy with work and school until next week. When I get around to it, I’ll try and implement a way to browse through the full images, without having to close the full image and choose another thumbnail.

So many projects, I don’t know where to start

February 5th, 2011 No comments

So, I’ve been spending many hours today looking for anti-spam methods for my Blog, and have implemented them. Although, I don’t know if the comments I’ve been getting are actually spam, or real people, I don’t know. I may do some clean-up after about a week or so, depending on if I get any more weird ‘generic’ comments on any of my posts.

Also added a list of Blogs I Follow to the sidebar. The list is copied from my Blogger account (had to manually copy every one over; couldn’t import them).

I have so many projects, I don’t know where to begin… Recently I thought of attempting to create a Happy Tree Friend character in Animation:Master (a 3D application), but I discovered I would have to create the turn-around images before I could even begin modeling. Another project would be to work on my other Blog, featuring my Funky Alien characters, and add pages to it.

As I may have stated before, I’m working on my main website, but it may be a while before I get a chance to actually get something done with it, since I want an image gallery to show off my artwork. Currently I use Flash and XML to display the images, however I found that Tablets and other Mobile devices don’t display Flash content properly. Which means I’ll have to develop a different method that is compatible with those devices. PHP may do the trick, if only I knew how to go about it.
